Facial Esthetics
Our Calgary Dentists and Cochrane Dentists can use Neuromodulators to help bring back your youthful expressions by relaxing facial muscles to soften fine lines and wrinkles.
Neuromodulators can also be used to treat jaw pain and tension related headaches.
What are Facial Esthetics?
Neuromodulators in Calgary and Cochrane
Neuromodulators modify muscle action and are noted primarily for their ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles for esthetic reasons. In dentistry, they're also used as therapeutic agents to manage Teeth Grinding habits and TMJ (Jaw) Pain.

How uncomfortable are neuromodulator injections?
Like any needle injection, the Botulinum Toxin can cause minor discomfort.
Because of the varying sensitivities among patients' skin, you may feel quick pinches of pain with some injections or none at all. Either way, the discomfort is short-lived and will only last a few seconds.
At Harvest Dental Care, the entire treatment procedure only lasts about 10 to 15 minutes.
Most patients will see results within 2 to 14 days.
-
How long do the effects of treatment last?
Treatments usually last 3-4 months. Eventually, the action of the botulinum toxin will wear off and the nerves will again be able to send those signals to the muscles to start working or contracting
There are some individuals in which it may last longer, sometimes in a 4-6 month range, or could be shorter.
It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment. Everyone has a unique experience and results may vary.
